Privacy Policy

Summary

LarkFolio is a writing environment operated by LarkFolio Pte. Ltd.. We store the account data you give us, the manuscripts and notes you create, and minimal metadata needed to operate the service. We do not sell your data or train models on your writing.

What we collect

• Account data: email address, display name, authentication identifiers from Google OAuth or magic-link email sign-in, and role/plan status.
• Content you create: documents, canon entries, notes, versions, and project settings you save inside LarkFolio.
• Usage metadata: credit consumption, timestamps of AI actions, error logs, and performance telemetry. We do not log raw manuscript text in our telemetry systems.
• Billing data: if you upgrade to a paid plan, our payment processor collects and stores payment details directly. LarkFolio does not store full card numbers.

How we use your data

• To provide the service: authenticate you, store your projects, and run AI features you invoke.
• To operate billing and enforce plan limits.
• To diagnose errors and improve reliability.
• To contact you about your account, billing, or critical product changes.

AI providers and your writing

When you invoke an AI feature (chat, revision, continuity check, import splitting), the relevant portion of your content and canon is sent to our configured AI provider (OpenAI-compatible endpoints) to generate the response. We send only the material needed for the feature you invoked. We do not use your writing to train models.

Where your data lives

Account data and project content are stored in a managed PostgreSQL database (Neon). Some workspace preferences and session-resume state are stored locally in your browser so the app can restore your workspace. Imports are processed in memory during upload rather than kept as a separate manuscript file bucket. Backup copies may exist for routine disaster recovery.

Your rights

• Export your full projects (markdown, .docx, .epub) at any time.
• Request deletion of your account and associated content.
• Correct or update your profile information.

Cookies

We use strictly-necessary cookies for authentication and session state. We do not use advertising cookies.

Children

LarkFolio is not directed at children under 13 and is not intended for their use.

Changes

We will update this page when the policy changes and revise the date at the top. For material changes we will notify active users by email.
